Knock Knock

Who's there?

Behind.

Behind Who?

Look behind you, because I'm way behind on everything.

Where did the weekend go? Hubby was away last week for work. Some of our weekend involved kiddo reminding his Da Da what he missed like elbows in the nose and a little body wiggling all over the place.

I revised my February 12 x 12 in 2012 picture book manuscript and shared it at our local SCWBI critique group meeting. All three in the picture book group are doing the 12x challenge. These meetings give me an opportunity to get feedback on my work, to catch errors (some are pointed out to me and others are found when I read my work to an audience) and to learn from the critique of other writer's work. I always get a mini-lesson from the critique sessions.

Sunday morning vanished in the kitchen as I made a dessert/breakfast pizza concoction for church. The mother's group provided refreshments between services. Ever realize way too late that you should have set your alarm for an hour earlier? Live and learn.

I felt busy this weekend, but I didn't make it through my To Do list or the Perfect Picture Book Fridays' linky list. Today is Presidents' Day in the U.S., of course, this means Hubby is home, so my day might be different.

We'll see if I can catch up on some things or stay behind.

Either way, I'll be blogging on Tuesday over at Clarbojahn's Blog

What happened in your world over the weekend or are you just looking forward to this new, bright and shiny week ahead?

  1. Oh enjoy your day Stacy, picture books will be back next week and listed on Susanna's blog anyway. It's family day here so similar. Enjoy!

    1. Catherine, We should call most federal holidays Family Day here, because that's what they turn into. Woke up to a little snow and cold wind, too. Hope you enjoy your day too.

  2. So funny! I said the exact same thing about this weekend on my post today - where did it go? Hope you have a nice day and find yourself a little more caught up at the end - I don't think there's any hope for me :)

    1. I'll think happy thoughts for you Susanna. I did my five pages this morning on schedule, so I'm hopeful I can pull out a fun and productive day. Baking may be part of the equation and that always gets the creative juices flowing.

  3. Don't weekends always go, and go, with the wind I suppose? Have a nice week Stacy. I'll look forward to your Tuesday blog!

    1. Thanks Patricia. It's sort of an ironic topic in light of my being behind...

  7. Love the knock-knock joke. And boy can I relate! There isn't enough hours in a day and enough days in a week. But we do what we can, right? I admire you. I don't know how you manage to keep a busy life AND still manage to blog regularly! I like to think I'm pretty good at juggling tasks, but that is without some sacrifice.

  8. The hurrier I go, the behinder I get. I think the Pennsylvania Dutch say that. Relax. Enjoy your family.

  9. How cool that others in your critique group are doing 12x12.

Is President's Day a bank holiday in every state?

Look forward to tomorrow's post on Clar's blog.

  10. Joanna, I believe it is. It's a federal holiday, so Hubby gets the day off. No mail service either. I think two of us are official participants. The third is a published PB author. She wasn't keen on signing up when I talked up the challenge in December, but was committed to doing the work. :)

  12. I have stayed behind all week. I felt like you did over the weekend and didn't get my stories read and then the week just happened and I am way behind. I think I'll try and get up earlier tomorrow to catch up.
