H is for hotel
Buying a house wasn't so easy.
Hubby, Enzo, the two dogs and I squeezed into an extended stay hotel. The continental breakfast and the evening snacks got old fast.
I spent my day taking care of Enzo, the dogs and searching for houses with our Realtor. Hubby began a new job. I watched way too much of the Today Show and HGTV's House Hunters program.
We had a few false starts where we thought we would escape the hotel. Deals evaporated and new searches began.
My father calls the hotel Enzo's boyhood home, because he lived there for four months. It was the first place they met their new grandson. They stayed in a room down the hall from ours.
The hotel loved it when family showed up to visit, especially those with credit cards or cash.

Wow, baby, dogs, extended hotel stay... and house searching... challenging times!
ReplyDeleteWere are you from originally, Stacy?
Joanna, I'm from the South — Georgia. Now that Enzo is older, I realize it was pretty easy when he was in his sleep. eat. poop. phase.
DeleteWow, all that time in a hotel, with a baby. I admire you even more now! :)
ReplyDeleteKaren, it's nothing like your own living arrangements after the floods.
DeleteI've been MIA for the last few days due to relatives visiting. I hope today is a catch up day!
ReplyDeleteYou sound very adventurous Stacy. It's so character building doing things like that, kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, that might be the cutest baby ever.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Ms. Jensen! I like the photo! Enzo's cute! :)

I love hotels, but don't know if I'd love four months of it! Cute Enzo!!
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of romantic, though, in a way. Or at least adventurous.
ReplyDeleteAh, your post brought back memories. When my first three kiddos were little, we moved (to all places) Turkey! And before we moved into base housing, we stayed in the Hodja Inn, which was kinda like a hotel. Three preschoolers, one mom, and a military dad who was gone all day. We were there for several lo-ong weeks. The memories are fun now ...
ReplyDeleteStacy, I love how you are using the A-Z as a memoir. I look forward to visiting. By the way, is Enzo tall, he certainly look like he has long legs. Cute photo.
ReplyDeleteFour months of continental breakfast? How did you survive? I too am enjoying this A-Z memoir. Persevere!
ReplyDeleteEnzo seems perfectly happy and comfortable on that sofa! ;-)
ReplyDeleteNice idea, to blog your memoirs!
BTW - thanks for stopping by my blog earlier - happy A-z'ing!
SueH I refuse to go quietly!
Hi Stacy! Enzo is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteWow! That must have been tough staying in a hotel for so long with such a young baby! (Although at least I guess you didn't have to vacuum :)) Enzo is so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteBeing in a hotel like that would get old pretty quickly. Four months of continental breakfasts *gagging* no thank you. Even if you didn't have to clean your own toilet.
